For their new home these clients who are both avid cooks wanted a modern style and environmentally friendly materials. The custom-crafted Plyboo cabinetry creates the perfect balance of warm, modern textures and renewable materials. The solid core bamboo plywood made finishing easy and economical for the cabinetmaker and was cost effective for the homeowners. The bamboo plywood is formaldehyde free and is easily coated with a low VOC water-based finish.

The kitchen layout has separate work zones for multiple cooks. It incorporates separate prep and cleanup sinks; and lots of counterspace, a five burner cooktop and double oven for the cook. The island seating lets the cooks visit with guests while preparing meals; the raised bar counter conceals the prep area on the opposite side. A built-in desk encloses file storage and office equipment as well as provides ample room for laptop, mail and phones.
